I Know a Mommy May 14, 2006

I know a mommy who loves her kids. Selfless in every way, she will play barbies, choo-choos, pollys, tea party, and candy land, even though she would rather be watching HGTV. She will also read kid books for hours on end.

This mommy will fix breakfast number one and number two, and even another bowl of cereal for her kids after she said that evening, "this is all I am making for dinner tonight, so you better eat it; no more food after this." She can't stand to see her kids suffer.

This is the same mommy that, when her husband comes home from work, could easily say, "I've had it–your turn!" But she doesn't. She will often let her husband unwind while she goes on to another thankless activity like giving the kids a bath.

Her husband could not stand having the kids in bed with him before its time to get up; this mommy bears it with no complaint. She does not have her own life and she does not seem to mind (most of the time).

All she can think about these days is getting pregnant–she loves it. She wants to get sick, get a big tummy, have difficulty walking and sleeping, and top it all off with four days in the hospital after major surgery, just so she can hold another bundle of joy.

She cooks, she cleans, she teaches, she loves. I won't tell you who this mommy is, but I love her.  Happy Mother's Day.

Yikes mike… you also have a beautiful wife… couldn’t you find a picture of her doing something else besides holding the remote?

I have to trick her into getting her picture taken as it is.

Well, it’s 1:15am, and I just finished writing my boys an email for tomorrow (they’re both on missions)… and I stumbled onto your site. What a sweet post. So wonderful when a husband appreciates his wife; even nicer when he can write about it.

I think I can go to sleep now : )
